Dr Henry Gilkes

Dentists Hobart welcomes Dr Henry Gilkes in West Lakes, for all their latest dental treatments and techniques, given gently by their caring team of dentists.

Dr Henry Gilkes graduated from the University of Adelaide with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery in 1982. From 1982 through to 1983 Henry worked in Hounslow United Kingdom, upon returning to Australia he worked in the community of Robe as a dentist and also at West Lakes from 1984 to 1989. In 1989 until the present Henry has become a managing partner at West Lakes Dental skilled in all aspects of general dental practice with an interest in oral surgery and implantology. His ongoing education has included numerous courses to upskill in oral surgery, implantology, hypnosis, practice management and general dental clinical skills. Henry is currently the SA state chairman for the National Dental Foundation ( a philanthropic organisation that supplies pro bono dental treatment to the needy in our community). He also an active member of “The Seattle Study Club”, “SA Osseointegration Society”, “Australian Dental Association” and is registered with the Dental Board through AHPRA. Accredited with Admitting and Dental Surgical privileges at Western Hospital and accredited with Surgical Assistant privileges at Wakefield Hospital. In his downtime Henry enjoys bike riding, photography, and windsurfing and is married with two adult daughters.
