Dr Michael Chong

Dentists Hobart welcomes Dr Michael Chong in Applecross, for all their latest dental treatments and techniques, given gently by their caring team of dentists.

Born in Malaysia, Dr Chong completed most of his High School and Tertiary education in Adelaide, Australia. His affinity for sports was equally translated to his chosen vocation – dentistry. Since university, Dr Chong have tried to push the forefront of dentistry. From being the only student in his year to comfortably and fully adopt the concept of amalgam-free dentistry to the introduction of implants to his earlier places of work, Dr Chong has always attempted to explore advanced techniques and modern materials to provide the best long term options for his patients. In 2007, Dr Chong founded Image Dental. The primary aim of Image Dental was to achieve the World Health Organisation (WHO) standard of 99-77-22, that is 99% of his patients at the age of 77 must have at least 22 natural teeth. This is done through Image Dental's core values of ‘Quality, Honesty and Safety’. By exploring new techniques and equipment and re-evaluating old ‘tried and true’ ones, Dr Chong's team hope to redefine current concepts in dentistry, such as preventive and minimally invasive dentistry – all to achieve our primary goal.
